Week 5 started with a leisurely morning. Hazel and I slept in while Rob and Sam went duck hunting. We met at Karen and Mike's for brunch. Hazel spent most of brunch sleeping on Grampa Mike!

Monday night is our standing date with Ken and Sherry. And of course, we had our weekly weigh in......Hazel now weighs 8 pounds, 8 ounces! It seems like she is getting bigger every day! Grandaddy Jordan got lots of snuggle time!

Tuesday was a big day! Happy 1 month birthday to Hazel Grace!!!!
Hazel played in her "garden" play gym and absolutely loved it! I took a video too. I was amazed at the stuffed carrots ability to hold her attention. She also really likes the sunshine (it doubles as a mirror), the honey bee (it plays music and lights up), and the snail (it is a soft rattle that I can wrap around her hand and she can actually shake it).

Thursday brought another round of visitors! Cousin Jessica came to visit in the afternoon and we (Jess, Hazel and me) went for a nice walk! Amber, my co-worker came by after work (sorry! no photos!) and Nate brought over an amazing home-made ravioli dinner. It was a full day!

Friday we went shopping with Grandma Jordan. It was a big day! The drive to Kohl's was wonderful. My mom sat in the back seat with Hazel and they played together the whole drive, but Hazel did not like Kohl's at first! I spent a good five minutes trying to find an empty dressing room so she could nurse. After nursing and a diaper change, Hazel was ready for some shopping!

Saturday morning we hit the farmer's market, all three of us! Hazel fell asleep on the way home and slept for 3 hours, so Rob and I took the opportunity to do some test cooking for smackdown. That's right, instead of cooking ourselves real food, we experimented with silly dishes like roasted beet and goat cheese salad and a grilled mushroom salad. We even had time to work on the presentation of the dishes! And in the afternoon we picked up a couple of bottles of wine and made the dishes again to work on the wine pairing!
Saturday night the three of us went to Josh and Lora's Halloween party dressed up as Oregon Trail (the theme was video games). Kristen took pictures. I promise to get them from her and post them soon.
